Protocols: General Principles
 
Overview Goal: Answer the diagnostic question effectively, reliably and efficiently

Strategy: Include sequences that are necessary, reproducible, and quick

Result: 50+ Body MR protocols at JHH alone

 
Example Protocol A protocol consists of specific sequences. A protocol is typically generic for a clinical question, but it may be tailored by patient and question.


 

 
 
Each sequence has specific acquisition details for each scanner (see example below). These are not changed for each patient or protocol. Instead they are typically optimized for each scanner.
